This spring, our Design Thinking teachers are launching an exciting project: students will reimagine old toys by building entirely new ones from used parts. What better way to give old toys new life while encouraging creativity and innovation?

What is Design Thinking?
Design Thinking is a dynamic, hands-on learning approach that helps students become creative problem-solvers. It emphasizes empathy, real-world relevance, and iterative design — guiding students through a process of empathizing, defining, ideating, prototyping, and testing. By working on open-ended, real-life challenges, students build confidence, learn to consider diverse perspectives, and develop critical thinking skills. Design Thinking is often paired with Computational Thinking pathways — preparing our kids for college, career, and life beyond school.
